Sota Clothing was founded in 2011 by Spencer Johnson, who first created the brand as a class project while studying Graphic Design at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Inspired by his love for Minnesota, Spencer turned his idea into a clothing brand focused on clean, timeless designs that celebrate the state. What started in a classroom has grown into a Minnesota favorite, supported by a team of family and friends. Today, Sota Clothing continues to create apparel that gives both longtime locals and newcomers a simple way to show their Minnesota pride.
